Dangerous Goods Packaging

UN specification packaging, supplied as a tested system

Dangerous Goods Packaging

Explore 4G and 4GV packaging kits with the components needed to assemble each tested configuration. We help you select packaging options based on your product and shipping requirements, with assembly and closure instructions for proper preparation.

Understanding 4G and 4GV packaging

Both 4G and 4GV packaging use a fiberboard outer box. For combination packaging, 4G options are based on a tested configuration of inner containers and packaging components, with changes limited to permitted variations. 4GV options allow greater flexibility in the inner containers used, provided the configuration meets the specified weight, cushioning, absorbency, and other requirements.

We help you evaluate the available options based on your product, inner containers, and shipping requirements.

Packaging components and assembly

The outer box, inner containers, cushioning, and closures work together as a packaging system. Review each kit’s contents and packing instructions to confirm which components are included and which must be ordered separately.

Follow the specified assembly and closure instructions when preparing your shipment. The shipper remains responsible for selecting authorized packaging and preparing it in accordance with applicable requirements.

Choosing compatible inner containers

Select inner containers based on both product compatibility and the requirements of the packaging system. We help you evaluate plastic, metal, and glass options for your formulation and shipping needs. Our compatibility guide can help narrow your selection, but it does not replace testing with your own product.

Choosing your container

Four considerations for the right packaging

Your product, closure, shipping requirements, and decoration needs all help shape your packaging selection. We’ll work through the details with you before your first order.

01

Your product

Start with what your container needs to hold. Your formulation, filling temperature, and compatibility requirements help guide the choice of material and container.

02

Your closure

Consider the container, cap, and liner together. We help you match the neck finish, closure, and liner to your product and packaging requirements.

03

Your shipping requirements

Tell us how and where your product will ship, including any applicable regulatory requirements. We help you evaluate packaging options with those needs in mind.

04

Your decoration

Plan for printing, labeling, or shrink sleeving as part of your container selection. We coordinate in-house decoration and distribution, with kitting available when you need it.

Material comparison

FAQs

Your packaging questions, answered

Can I get a sample before committing to an order?

Yes. Samples let you check fit, fill and line behavior before tooling or stock is committed. Tell us the product and the volume and we will send what is closest from stock.

Do you supply the closure and liner with the container?

Yes. We help you match the container, closure, and liner, and we quote each one as a separate line item. Neck finish decides which caps fit and the liner decides whether the seal holds, so specifying them together avoids a mismatch.

How do I know the container is compatible with my product?

Our compatibility guide is a general reference to help narrow your options. Compatibility testing is, and will always be, the final determining factor in container selection. It is the buyer's responsibility to determine whether a given container, closure, and accessory is suitable for use in their application. View the compatibility guide

Can this be decorated before it ships?

Screen printing, pad printing, labeling and shrink sleeving are done in house. Decorating on the same site as kitting removes a handoff and a freight leg, which usually shortens the lead time.

What if nothing in the stock range fits?

We design and tool custom molds, from concept and prototype through to a validated production tool. The tool is held on site for repeat production.
